Compatibility Guide for Saturn Interfaces (PC and Macintosh)

**Given the rapid evolution of technology, certain software products, such as VST plugins, have undergone substantial updates. This is particularly influenced by major updates in Windows 11 and the growing trend toward Apple Silicon compatibility in recent years. For a seamless experience, we recommend sticking with your current operating system until you've confirmed or tested compatibility with any newer operating system. This ensures a seamless experience for you to enjoy your software products with the Saturn I & II audio interface.

Generally, an audio interface relies on a designated USB driver to communicate with your computer. As a general practice, unless you're using an unsupported operating system (such as Windows 7 or Windows 8) or encountering significant system adjustments (like privacy settings affecting the microphone or output), a USB audio interface should seamlessly function with the correct settings on your computer.

We've outlined the supported OSX versions for both Windows and Mac below:

**Update 21st Oct 2023* *
In macOS 14 Sonoma, a microphone icon will appear in the top-right corner, just next to keyboard settings, whenever you launch a DAW or audio-based application. This icon enables you to choose the microphone mode, ranging from Standard to Voice Isolation. However, we recommend avoiding the Voice Isolation mode, as it could potentially impact the quality of your recorded sound.

**Update 19th Sep 2024**
No matter which third-party DAW or plugins you’re using, we strongly recommend holding off on updating to the latest macOS Sequoia. Developers often need weeks or even months to ensure their products are fully compatible.
Before making the jump to any new macOS version,
make sure to run a full Time Machine backup. This will give you the safety net to roll back to your previous, stable system and keep your projects moving forward without a hitch.
