Connecting to a Computer (Windows 10, 11 or macOS )
Saturn Interfaces (I & II) are USB-powered and require a minimum of 5V DC at 500mA to function properly. In theory, most USB ports on modern computers (when we say modern, we mean computers that were manufactured within the last decade) should be capable of supplying the necessary power to your Saturn Interfaces.
However, if there are issues with either the USB port on your computer or the provided USB cable, the signal LEDs on the Saturn Interfaces will flash in RED , and the knob (the LED volume control) will not illuminate.
Here are some quick steps to troubleshoot:
Connecting to a Mobile Device (Android, iPhone or iPad)
When connecting your Saturn Interfaces (I & II) to a mobile device with a USB Type-C port or Apple Lighting port, Saturn Interfaces use a class-compliant audio driver, allowing you to hear and record input channel 1 and 2 with mono configuration by default. Please note that power specifications vary depending on each mobile device and the USB cable/connector used. Therefore, we recommend always connecting through a USB-C to USB cable directly and using a USB power hub (connected to a wall socket ) for additional power.
If there are issues with either the power specifications of your mobile device or the provided USB cable, the knob (the LED volume control) will illuminate in RED or Yellow as shown below.
*A Camera connector kit is required when using an iPhone with an Apple Lighting jack.
*Always check the power rating with your mobile device’s manufacturer before connecting to the Saturn Interfaces.
